Back by popular demand, New York City’s Dave’s Quality Meat (DQM) joins hands (in a rather pictorial rendition) with adidas again for the adidas Originals Consortium series. Championing well-received simplicity from 2009, the Spring/Summer 2010 collection continues to dress Rod’s OG signature vintage shoes in fresh colorways. The Rod Laver Vintage stays slim and sleek with monochrome shades reworked in warm-weather appropriate materials such as a combination of leather and mesh. The three new shades of lemon peel yellow, nautical navy and a can-do-no-wrong olive bodes well with the summer sunshine.
The best part about the DQM Rod Laver Vintage is the meticulous attention to details put into the shoes. The eyelets are engraved with “adidas Consortium” branding and the collection’s signature handshake logo is also emblazoned on the heel. The Trefoil and DQM double branding are embossed on tongue and even the lace tips are marked with the DQM touch.
